Dunellen Parent Support Group (DPSG)

DPSG holds support group meetings for Parents of children with special needs on the first Thursday of every other month from 7 - 9 pm in the Media Center at John P. Faber Elementary School.  This support group is pulled together by parents of Dunellen’s special needs children who recognize the unique challenges of raising a child with disabilities and developmental disorders.   DPSG welcomes all parents, grandparents and professionals who wish to join in this vital voyage of discovery and commitment to our local special needs children.

DPSG’s goal is to provide support and networking opportunities to the Families of Dunellen’s special needs children, helping parents and other family members to have a better understanding of our children’s disabilities and developmental disorders, strategies for teaching our children, and strategies for handling behavior problems in the home.  DPSG discusses topics important to families. Support group meetings include open discussions, a book share library, workshop schedules plus a variety of resources, handouts and research updates.  Topics include but are not limited to: Interventions, Special Diets, Creative Play Ideas, Doctor/Dentist Suggestions, Vitamins & Supplements, Transitioning Suggestions, Parent-School Participation and In-house Updates.

Please pass the word on to families, teachers and therapists of Dunellen’s special needs children, reminding them to mark their calendars and show their support at our socials.

All parents need support whether your child has a mild learning disability or a severe disorder.  Our mission is to help all of the families of Dunellen’s special needs children.
