The New Jersey Challenge team members were chosen after several students took a series of quizzes on subjects from both the humanities and scientific fields as well as pop culture facts. The students who had the top scores and therefore made it into the final team were Matt Turlip, T.J. Wenzel, Larry Miller, and Keith Stebor. The alternate team member was Amanda Rentenberg. The team members met every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning at 7:00 with Mrs. Ricciardi and Mr. Matheus to practice.

The tapping of the tournament took place at Rutgers University in New Brunswick on Friday, October 20th. The team members, challenge coaches, student council members, the cheerleading squad, Ms. White, parents, and Mr. Mosley attended the taping. The students faced University High School from Newark in the first round. The show will air on New 12 NJ on March 3 and 4 at 6:30 and 9:30.
