Wind in the Willows

Director's Notes

“An excellent story about true friendship, loyalty and how four friends manage to handle each and every situation”.

The rural tranquility of life on the river bank and its inhabitants is shattered by the eccentric behavior of Mr. Toad (played by Zac Danciak) and his obsession with motorcars.  When his new hobby gets out of control, Mole, (played by Eric Switzer) Rat, (played by Michael Knight) and Badger (played by Christian Munoz) try to help. Toad turns a deaf ear to the advice of his friends, listening instead, to the scheming flattery of some Wiley Weasels.

Toad finally makes a big mistake when he steals a limousine and gets sent to jail.  A sweet, young girl, Penelope, takes pity on him and helps him to escape dressed as a washerwoman. But on returning to the Wild Wood, Toad is faced with the prospect of ridding Toad Hall of the invading Weasels and rescuing little Portly Otter from their evil clutches.

Kenneth Grahame originally invented the stories and adventures in "The Wind in the Willows," for his son Allastair.  Like many writers, he drew upon his own life and the people around him when he created these memorable characters.  A precocious boy who was partially blind, Allastair loved to hear the stories his father imagined for him - the stories of Rat, Mole, Badger, and Toad.

Cheer on Badger and Rat as they lead the battle to reclaim Toad Hall from the band of evil weasels, and take a moment to treasure the wonderful gift of storytelling with that special child in your life.
