Education
for Parenthood Preschool Program Explained
Dunellen High School is offering an
exciting class that has snacks, storytelling, learning and craft activities
as everyday events. The course is Education for Parenthood, where the
students are the teachers. It is an accredited course taught third and
fourth periods at the high school.
The purpose of the course is to educate
students in
effective parenting skills. The percentage of unmarried
parents, multiplying numbers for abortions, and the growth of child abuse
are just a few of the factors that point out the critical need for a
stronger emphasis on parenting education. The high school students plan,
run, and evaluate the entire program. The year ends with a graduation
ceremony.
Dunellen High School is currently taking
applications for the
2008-09 Preschool Program. Only Dunellen residents are
eligible for the program and it is free of cost. Children should be three
years of age by October 1, 2008.
The preschool runs two days a week,
Wednesday and Friday (9:30-10:45). The tentative dates for 2008-09 are
October through June 1. Applications are available in the main office of
the high school.
The Pre-school application is also available as a download.
