SAT Prep Class for Juniors

Dear Parents/Guardians of Juniors:
As many of you know, Dunellen High School sponsors an SAT Preparation Course for all 11th grade students that are interested. Our SAT Prep course will begin on Tuesday, February 21st and run for ten (10) weeks. Classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays (with the exception of one class which will be held on Tuesday Feb. 21st due to the Monday holiday). The class times are either 3:30 to 5:00 or 7:30 to 9:00. In addition, there are 4 Saturday practice exams.
This year, the SAT Prep classes will be taught in-person. In the event that should change and the school transitions to virtual instruction, then the classes would become virtual as well. Otherwise, the sessions will be taught in-person.
The cost of the class will be $125.00. Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) will be for books and materials. One hundred dollars ($ 100.00) will be refundable if your child attends all sessions (as in the past) and takes the SAT on May 6th. Below, please find the schedule that will be followed.
In order to plan for this course, please register by January 25th, 2023 by filling out the Google Registration Form https://forms.gle/eVNgLgertexNdLYd7 and dropping off a check (or cash) for $125.00 payable to "Dunellen Board of Education." The check should be dropped off at the DHS Main Office in an envelope marked "SAT Prep Class" with your child's name on the check and envelope.
SAT scores are an important component to college admissions and I urge you to take advantage of this excellent program. Instruction will be given in math skills, verbal topics, and test taking skills.
In order to qualify for a full refund your child must attend all the classes and take the May 7th administration of the SAT. On the registration form, please make sure you complete the name and address of the person the refund is to be sent to.
If there are any questions, do not hesitate to contact the School Counseling office at 732-400-5900, ext. 2320.
