Thank you to the DHS Peer Leaders as they held their monthly meeting with all 9th grade students. This month's topic was bullying prevention and how students can support and help one another whether it’s at home, in school or in the community.

* When you are calling your child out "sick" please specify what their illness is.  If there is a specific diagnosis, please specify or notify the nurse to inform.
* If your child has seasonal allergies, please remember to medicate with their allergy medication before coming to school.
* Flu Season is upon us.  Please consider getting your child the flu vaccine.

Away All Day: We remind parents and students that there is no use of internet-connected devices during the school day. Students are not to use cell phones, headphones, earbuds, smart watches, smart glasses, and tablets. While most students have followed the new rules, some have needed reminders and have received consequences for their actions.

Attention Winter Athletes: Any student looking to participate in basketball, wrestling, or track this winter, be sure to complete the necessary forms in order to be eligible. For more information, please visit the DHS Athletics website: DHS Athletics

The DHS Homework Help Center is now open and will run after school, from 2:45 - 3:45 pm, and every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the DHS Tech Center. Students can come to get extra help from teachers with their school work or just sit and have a quiet place to get things done. We encourage students to attend so that they have fewer or no assignments to do when they get home.

Academic Corner: From the desk of Ms. Powell

Mrs. Jordan's ML, multilingual learner, students have been putting their speaking and listening skills into practice! As part of a music-themed project in their Vista textbook, students prepared questions and interviewed DHS staff members in English. This real-world experience helps students build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and step outside their comfort zones!

Ms. McConville’s Algebra 2 students have been exploring systems of equations through graphing and elimination methods. Students have also been creating and graphing linear equations, strengthening their problem-solving skills and deepening their understanding of algebraic concepts!
